FUNDRAISER: 100% of the proceeds will be donated to kooyrigs.org who have been providing the much needed humanitarian aid to Armenians affected or displaced by Azeri acts of ethnic cleansing.

Alice Odian Kasparianu2019s 1983 book u201cArmenian Needlelace and Embroidery` describes the role lacemaking played in her familyu2019s fight for survival in 1915. She hoped for the book and its illustrations to be an u201ceverlasting pictorial monument` to the Armenian lacemakers that made and preserved this art.

I am still learning this craft and I am awkwardly fumbling through these stitches without a living matriarch to guide me. This book is what kept this craft alive in my life and practice.

This week Armenians across the world are bracing for continued cultural genocide and erasure and waking up to devastating images of the mass exodus of Armenians in Artsakh and Azeri vandalism against our holy sites.

Needlelace has become a significant coping mechanism for me this week. Today I am sitting and knotting these tiny pink laces. The u201cyelag` or strawberry pattern as described by Kasparian.

There are three price points for the donations - $10, $20 and $30 and when the first laces run out I will continue to make them to order.
