Description

Here is a cute vintage Monchhichi, a midi large thumb sucking cutie. Sadly, no label can be found, so we must presume this is one of the many clones from the original Sekiguchi model.
Nevertheless, our vintage Monchhichi (or sometimes spelled Monchichi) here was definitely made in the 1980s, the material used is evidence of that fact.
These old, originally Japanese monkey dolls are also called Chicaboo, Kiki or Futagonomonchhichi.

Old blue eyed Monchhichi boy (no bow on top of the head, but you can easily dress it as a girl!) measures 33 cm / 13 inches over all and 25 cm / 10 inches sitting.

Note the fine blue eyes! As usual, on the cute black nose some little colour was cuddled away. The old monkey doll cannot quite stand by itself but is too firmly stuffed to sit without a backup as well. The fingers on the left hand are straight! (The oldest Monchhichi have a grabbing left hand.)

Vintage Monchhichi brown artificial fur is excellent, he is all in all, in very good vintage condition. 1980s thumb sucking Monchhichi monkey doll would make a great addition to every collection and for all shabby chic, kawaii, and vintage toy lovers it is cuteness overload!

*This listing is for the vintage midi large Monchhichi as shown in the first pictures ONLY; any decorations you see in some of the photographs will NOT come with the old Monchhichi monkey! (The XXL Sekiguchi monkey that sits beside the one here listed in available in our store as well!)
