Description

Here is a cute vintage original 1974 Sekiguchi Monchhichi boy, a very large thumb sucking monkey doll, with the original label on its back.
Our blue eyed Japan vintage Monchhichi (or sometimes spelled Monchichi) here was made in the first editions by Sekiguchi, from 1974 to 1980 and still has his original Sekiguchi label as you can see in the photographs. These old Japanese monkey dolls are also called Chicaboo, Kiki or Futagonomonchhichi. As is usual with the first edition Monchhichi, our boy has a sucking thumb on his right hand (not a pacifier like the later editions), and a gripping hand on his left.

Large old crying Monchhichi boy measures 45 cm / 18 inches tall.

Note the fine pained features! As usual, on the cute black nose some little colour was cuddled away, and there are few small scratches on his cheeks (see photographs please). The old monkey doll cannot quite stand by itself but is too firmly stuffed to sit without a backup as well.

Vintage Monchhichiu2019s brown artificial fur is all fine, he is all in all, in very good vintage condition. Large Sekiguchi thumb sucking Monchhichi monkey doll would make a great addition to every collection and for all shabby chic, kawaii, and vintage toy lovers it is cuteness overload!

*This listing is for the vintage crying Monchhichi boy ONLY; any decorations you see in some of the photographs will NOT come with the Monchhichi monkey boy!
