Description

: A Japanese vintage Ikebana basket by Ikkyusai.
It may have been a wall hanging and the fook have come off, but it has a very unusual shape.

Soot bamboo (susutake) is smoked from the hearth of an old folk house.
The dark brown color is smoky and comes naturally.
Some of the bamboo is 100 to 150 years old and is prized for tea ceremony utensils.
