Hand Turned from a lovely Rustic Piece of Recycled Pine Wood. A fabulous tool for spinning and plying your yarn with both hands .

A lovely sized kick spindle that sits solidly on the ground as you spin.

The Kick Spindle is the tool that is midway between a hand drop spindle and a spinning wheel.

I have hidden a bearing kit inside the wood that supports the spindle. This a metal cylinder that turn smoothly inside a second metal cylinder. The bearings are housed inside the spindle supports giving the kick spindle a lovely smooth and completely silent spin.

Finished in Polish beeswax.

Base - 13 inches long by 6 inches wide.
Height from base to hook - 12.5 inches
Large Wheel Diameter - 6 inches
small wheel diameter - 3 inches
Dizz - 4 inches by 3.8 inches

Wool:
The wool provided is a blend of hand washed, hand dyed Jacob wool. I achieve the uniform colour by spitting the dark brown fleece colour from the white before washing and dying the white part of the fleece. It is time consuming but very much worth it as this fleece takes dye beautifully and is fabulous to work with.
