Description
Beautiful antique Biedermeier liquor cabinet / wall cabinet from around 1850. Such high-quality small furniture was used at the time to store alcohol and home-made schnapps. They stood or hung in small salons or study rooms, where people would socialize after a meal, among other things.
The cabinet is made of solid wood and can be hung on a wall or placed on a cabinet or table. Inside it has two shelves. The door can be locked and the key is also available. The key plate made of brass has a rocaille border and in the middle a stylistic man's head is depicted and his mouth serves as a keyhole. On the door there is also a high-quality carved relief and shows a grimace in the middle which is surrounded by leaves and tendrils ornamentation.
The resulting patina and signs of wear give the closet a wonderful charm and vintage character. These are intentional and thus testify to its originality. In order to preserve the patina and to emphasize it even better, the wall cabinet was treated with linseed oil varnish. Unfortunately, the cupboard crown is no longer available. This was originally inserted into the four holes on the top. The two wall hooks were probably attached later. Two pieces of wood are missing from the back right foot, see pictures! This is hardly visible in normal use and does not affect the stability and stability.
This wall cabinet is the perfect small piece of furniture in style-oriented apartments, a bar or in a lounge. Not only does it go well with the trendy industrial design, country house or shabby chic style, it can also be integrated into modern living styles as a special piece of furniture with a lot of history. It is also ideal for storing medicines as a medicine cabinet or for herbs and spices.
