Description

Here is vintage Steiff puppy Molly, one of the cutest sitting dogs Steiff ever produced! Molly is made of brown tipped white mohair, produced from 1949 to 1961; the largest after WW II edition. This size was produced from 1925 to 1943 as well, but since the dog lost all IDu2019s, we assume the later date of production here for the sake of our customers. There is, without the IDu2019s, no distinction to be made between the earlier and later edition, so it is possible that the dog here was produced earlier. Steiff Molly puppy is measuring 24 cm/ 9 u00bd inches from front paw to the middle of the head and 30 cm / 12 inches from the middle of the head to butt without tail.

The sweet old Steiff puppy is firmly stuffed with wood wool (excelsior) and has a swivel head. The bow was added, the squeaker in its belly is mute.
Fine vintage Steiff dog Molly has her entire claw and nose embroidery originally and complete, the long hair tipped mohair is excellent and still fluffy, but there is a bit lost on the front legs and in one spot on back (see photographs)!
Mollyu2019s huge glass eyes are back painted.

All in all, the condition of this vintage Steiff dog is very good considering the age, and right for the collector who does not need IDu2019s to be present but recognizes such an old toy as an ambassador of time and love!
