Description

A handmade, bobbin lace, bird. Looks like a robin or a sparrow. Vintage gift for craft-loving grandparents, looks great in a bird-themed nursery or room. Maybe as a gift for the bird-loving flowergirl?

Nellie made this small bird as one of her first figurative bobbin lace works. It's rather small (please look at the size in Inches if you're from the US), but that adds to the feeling of being a robin or a sparrow. The figure was made with the use of wooden bobbin lace pins, about 25 - 30 for the 'stick', and the same amount for the bird itself. Wire used was linnen based. It was made somewhere in the 1980's, and the white turned a lighter shade of beige/ecru.
She created this by starting at the top, and adding more wooden lace pins every time she went from left to right or vice versa.

If you have any addditional questions to this piece, please ask. For instance, if you want to see it combined with other birds, the swan/duck or the farmers: we would gladly make a picture as soon as we visit Nellie.

Some things to take into consideration:
All measurements are in cm's and converted.
The rulers in the pictures use centimeters or millimeters. 1 cm = 10 mm = 0,393700787 inch.

These handmade products are the results of Nellies training and bobbin lace lessons. Some of them are over 40 years old and have some wear and tear. For adding some vintage look (mid 20th century) to your wedding or a room. Because the products are handmade, there might be some mistakes while making the lace. If Nellie noticed it on time, she would fix it. If not, she will just keep pointing out where she went sloppy (because one of us was having a school-emergency) or made a mistake (obviously not her fault, but originated in some kind of drama in her big family)

All the artist impressions are just that: an impression how to use these products. Feel to ask any questions or extra pictures.

If you want to order multiple products, ask for a 'how do they look together' picture.

Products are shipped in a small-sized box, with some re-used cardboard. The bobbin lace is not attached to the paper, so it could be wringled if your post-service-person really likes to swing those boxes I ship using dutch Postnl, with a track and trace. Flying it across an ocean might cost some time.
