Expertly hand worked in subtlety pale coloured silks worked on mauve silk satin ground. With decorative laid couched gold gilt wrapped thread work.
This is a great example of museum quality embroidery from this era, and is a good study piece or for design inspiration.
The embroidery has been stretched and mounted over a thin board at some point in its history and is ready to be framed.
Measurements:
37 x 48cm
Condition: In good condition for a silk embroidery from this era. Some rubs and losses, loose threads and an overall patina of age as you would expect in a textile from this era. Nothing that is detrimental to the piece as a whole.
