DescriptionThis is a truly fabulous military style suit in a beautiful peacock blue/green velvet by the master of power dressing for women, THIERRY MUGLER
Label Thierry Mugler Paris
Made in France
Size marked FR40 but is perhaps a contemporary size smaller (see measurements)
Fabric is a cotton velvet
Flat measurements:
Jacket
shoulder to shoulder approx 38cm/40cm or 15/15.7 inches - as there are no shoulder seams for a fixed measurement, these are a guide
armpit to armpit - the sleeves are batwing so no fixed underarm measurement but about 38cm+ / 15+inches
waist is a fixed measurement - 36cm / 14.1 inches (the integrated tie belt can pull the waist in tighter that this)
length is 52cm / 20.4 inches
Skirt
width waist 33cm / 13 inches
width hips 44cm / 17.3 inches
length 61cm / 24inches
Neither the jacket nor the skirt are lined. The skirt has two large pockets and a small rear vent with can be closed by a velvet covered stud. The jacket closes by a silver metal zip and does the breast pocket. Both are in good working order but perhaps a bit aged in coloration (now a whitish silver metal).
The velvet is in very good condition which is rare for a vintage piece like this, particularly in blue. But really the ensemble is overall in very good order. Would likely be best in a collection though, or for wearing on rare occasions.
