The Crios is an Irish woven woolen cord in bright colours which is traditionally used in Celtic handfasting ceremonies.

This cord is in the colours inspired by the magical stones of Ireland. A large stone with a hole through it was used traditionally to seal a bargain when two people shook hands through the hole. There are some stones at which marriages take place to this day :) The colours in this cord are inspired by the colours of the stone and the mosses and lichens that grow on them. The Blarney stone of course is the most famous stone in Ireland.

This pattern is symmetrical, symbolizing the balance of the masculine and the feminine. In the center a double helix suggests the essence of creation running through life.

This cord is made from Aran Yarn from Irelandu2019s two remaining woolen mills in Kerry and Donegal. It measures 78" long and 1.5" wide, (2m x 4cm approx.) perfect for tying around the wedding couples hands twice, with room for the knot on top.
