Description

This antique powder compact was created in 1920 by the Dingley Brothers, silversmiths located in the famous Birmingham jewellery quarter.
Square in shape its surface has been elegantly engine turned to create the appearance of a woven pattern. Its edges are a frame of plain silver accentuating the pattern. Opening to reveal a shallow chamber for loose powder with a velvet edged mesh cover and a mirror on the other side.

Hallmarked on the bottom/powder chamber with the Birmingham assay, date letter and makers mark.

The compact measures 7cm x 7cm with a thickness of 12mm. and weighs 95.9 grams.

It comes in its original cover of black grosgrain material with a lining of cream coloured soft felt.

In wonderful antique condition.
