This is a toy wind-up alligator made by Tri-Ang and was named by them the Jabberwok. His wind-up does work, but there is no key included (you can find them on the internet). When wound he walks while his head moves back and forth.

The bottom, the green, and wind up are made of metal. The upper is plastic. He has a felt tongue and should have had a felt or plastic tail, which is now gone. There is some dirt and wear, mostly on the spines of his back. He measures about 3" tall and about 8" long. N530
