Description

A building number in the town of Taormina, Sicily, which displays the Trinacria, a mythical creature that appears on the Sicilian flag, and the Moor's Heads, other mythical Sicilian creatures. The Moor's Heads portray the face of man wearing a turban and a woman with a crown, both embellished with jewellery, flowers and citrus fruits. The figurines are associated with two legends: one that a local woman fell in love with a Moorish man then, on finding out he had a wife and children at home, went mad with jealousy and cut off his head. The second legend states that both the Moorish man and the Sicilian woman were decapitated by the woman's family when it was discovered they were having an affair.

This Trinacria Sicily Photography Print is perfect for those who have a special connection with the Italian island. It is available in a variety or sizes, from small to extra large, and is striking displayed on its own or as part of a gallery wall.
