Description

This is the version 1 of Ahlstrom Pine, unique handmade print. Printed with the Vandyke brown (vdb) process over an archival UltraChrome pigment layer. Colours are slightly more saturated than in the version 2 (see listing). The image is of an old pine tree in Noormarkku, Finland.

Printed on Guarro Casas Cream paper. You will receive the print only. Paper size is 42.5 x 28 cm, image size 38 x 22 cm.

The Vandyke brown is a historic photographic process based on the first iron-silver process invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel. It uses UV light for exposure and gets its name from its similarity in colour to the rich brown pigment used by the Flemish painter Van Dyck.
