The kettle is a classic by Alessi, now famous worldwide for its design and the water whistle that warns when it is ready.

The bottom in the old collections (like this one) have the bottom in copper! very conductive material while the new ones have the bottom in magnetic steel, also the box is completely different.

Warning, the new kettle costs about 250 euros, this one is a collector's item, one of the first editions with original box and in excellent condition, a museum piece.

The 9091 kettle has a melodic whistle made of brass in a shape that has never been seen before and consisting of two small vents in which the tuners that reproduce the notes mi and si are inserted. Richard Sapper created this kettle inspired by a childhood remembrance, the poetic sound of boats' sirens at River Rhine: this is because the melody that accompanies the vapour outlet must be pleasant and not anxious like the whistle of boilers. This kettle is a polysensory object which will not interrupt an enjoyable break with a whistle, but with a captivating melody.
