Description

A set of four geomancy sticks for divination, which I made from Hawthorn wood. The colours in the wood are incredibly rich, streaky shades of russet and tan as you'd expect from well seasoned fruit wood. Apart from being beautiful they're also incredibly tactile and they make a fantastic noise when you shake them together in your cupped hands. They're quite small and cut quite thin, so you'll be able to take them everywhere. Every surface is silky smooth to the touch, the corners are slightly rounded, and the dots are burned into the wood deeply enough to feel them under your fingertips. Please forgive the double dot on one of the 2-dot sides; one of the cats jumped up onto the work surface and as I hurried to swat her away before she burned herself (or me) I lightly touched the wood surface with the burning iron by mistake. I like to think it proves that the work is done by an ordinary person in an ordinary kitchen with ordinary hassles! :-)

You are buying the sticks only, they do not come with a bag or instructions.

Also known as Whitethorn or the May Tree. Hawthorn is excellent for magic to do with general happiness, because it dispels negative energy and strife, and brings hope. It is useful for cleansing and purification, and is believed to ease enforced chastity and increase male potency. It is also said to bring good luck in fishing.

Approximate Size: Two and one eighth inches long, five eighths of an inch wide, and a quarter of an inch thick.
55mm x 17mm x 6mm.

They will come with a list of the magical properties of the wood, a picture and care instructions.

These Geomancy Sticks are not all identical, nor are they perfect. They reflect the fact that each one is individually hand made, so please don't expect mass-produced perfection. I do all the work by hand so they tend to vary a little in length, width and thickness. Sawing parallel lines is a lot more difficult than you would think, a bit like cutting even slices of bread but much harder work. However, each set is cut from the same piece of wood, so they will have a shared energy and should work well together.
