Description

Here comes a beautifully preserved large vintage Steiff gymnastics ball, made of mohair plush in a mosaic pattern of 6 colours. Those fine mohair balls were produced in this size (20 cm / 8 inches diameter) from 1950 to 1982 and since our ball here still has remains of the US Zone tag (not readable anymore) which was in use only from 1949 to 1953 we can conclude that this ball belongs to the very first edition after WWII. The thread where the round Steiff paper tag once hung is also present, please, see all photographs provided!
Our old mohair ball is filled with what Steiff only calls u201cspecial stuffing`, it is no specified in the catalogue - what the u201cspecial stuffing` consists of I cannot say, it still is very firm!
Our vintage Steiff gymnastics mohair ball is in excellent vintage condition, the colours are still fresh!
