Almost all Volna lenses have good build and image quality. MC Volna-9 2.8 / 50 MACRO also boasts good workmanship and very sharp images. MC Volna-9 2.8 / 50 MACRO is the only and therefore the best macro lens from the Soviet Union. The lens has a strange name 'MC Volna-9' in Cyrillic and 'MACRO' in Latin. The lens have unique stars shaped aperture and so far there is no other macro lens with that type of bokeh. The lens is sharp at all apertures, especially at medium F / 4.0-F / 8.0. At F / 2.8, spherochromatism is slightly noticeable, a slight haze appears around the contrasting details, this is clearly visible on here is an example snapshot. Lens are in very good condition, near to exelent, focus ring is smooth like butter, lens looking clean, its possible to have some spots of dust between the lens, due the years. Aperture is clean and working normally, no spot of oil. Connection is m42 thread, its possible to be used with modern cameras. Lenses with mounting thread M42 , are very easy to use on almost any modern digital camera (both SLR and mirrorless), for this it is enough to choose the right adapter (adapter). You do not need to carry out any additional steps to modify the lens.
