Wonderful keyring by Charles Thomae Co. Excellent condition. Smooth in your hand. The ring is tight as it should be to hold your keys.

Just about 2-7/8" (7.3 cm) long overall, the ring alone is about 1-1/4" (3.2 cm) diameter by just over 1/16" (1.9 mm) wide by just over 1/8" (3.9 mm) thick. The clover alone is about 1-9/16" (3.9 cm) tall including its own ring by about 1-7/16" (3.7 cm) wide by just under 1/16" (1 mm) thick. Both the back of the clover & the ring are marked 'Sterling' along with the Thomae hallmark, a 'C' over a 'T' makers mark. Weight - 15.7 g / .55 oz.

The shamrock is a three-leaf clover & said to have been used by Saint Patrick to illustrate the Trinity of the father, son & holy spirit. It has subsequently become a national symbol of Ireland. As the legend goesu2026 the first leaf of a three-leaf shamrock represents hope, the second faith, the third is love, But if you find a four-leaf clover, itu2019s said to the fourth leaf brings luck & wealth to the finder. Some believe if youu2019re wearing a four-leaf clover, youu2019ll be able to see fairies when they're nearby.

Charles Thomae was a supervisor of the Watson Co & formed The Thomae Co as a division of the Watson Co. In 1920 he resigned from both firms & opened his business as Chas Thomae & Son, a partnership with his son Herbert in Attleboro MA. Charles Thomae died in 1958 & the business was continued by his two sons Herbert & Charles G. Thomae.
