Kyrgyz Embroidered Tush Kiyiz Over-bed Tent Hanging

The Qu0131ru011fu0131z, known in the West as Kyrgyz, are an ancient Turkic-speaking tribe that once inhabited the territory best described as the meeting point of the Upper and Lower Yenisey Rivers, near the Minusinsk Basin. In fact, they have been around since at least the 3rd century B.C.E., and probably before that time as well. As time passed, they expanded, and from that expansion, multiple sub-tribes and clans carrying the name Qu0131ru011fu0131z came into being. One of the many descendants of the ancient Qu0131ru011fu0131z are the Qu0131ru011fu0131z of Qu0131ru011fu0131zstan, known in the West as Kyrgyzstan, one of the many Turkic nations in Central Asia.

Per Vedat Karadag, "[tush kiyiz] are made by grandmothers as a wedding present to their kids. It is a family tradition in between Kazakh and Kyrgyz people. Designs are usually cosmic and symbolize rural life in high valleys."
