Description

This cute vintage sleeping Steiff lying/sitting brown tabby cat is named Snurry and was produced 1964 to 1966 only in this largest ever made size.
Rare old Steiff cat Snurry here has her Steiff silver script ear button and yellow label (cut short and not readable anymore), the chest tag and her original silk bow are lost. The off ? white silk bow our cat is wearing now was added by me.
Due to the very short time of production, you can imagine, how rare a vintage collectable Steiff Snurry cat is nowadays! This is the very first one of the largest size I have ever been able to lay my hands on!
Old Steiff Snurry cat has no glass eyes like other Steiff animals, her eyes are stitched to appear closed, a typical cat thing, you can almost hear her purr ? this may have led to her naming; u2018schurrenu2019 = German for the purr - sound cats make, and u2018Snurryu2019 may derive from it.

Our vintage Steiff Snurry cat measures 25 cm / 9 7/8 inches from the middle of her head over her back to the tail.

Vintage Steiff Snurry is firmly stuffed with wood wool (excelsior), her beige and brown mohair is hand brushed, and she has a swivel head, stitched pink claws (only on the front legs, it is originally this way!), and an embroidered nose.
Large old Steiff Snurry cat is in excellent condition!
Old Steiff Snurry would make a fine addition to every Steiff or vintage toy collection and for cat and shabby cottage chic lovers a must have! Cat would also love to be a fine companion to a teddy bear or doll or may be happy to live in your (large) dollhouse.
