This is a substantial, rare hand-crafted and particularly sculptural piece of work, currently formed as a buckle but which would adapt to the most magnificent pendant of huge proportions. I am assuming that this was perhaps crafted in Scotland (I bought it in Glasgow) and as you can see, it very much shows the Glasgow Rose design in its wonderfully organic, twisted silver work. It has a makeru2019s mark stamped on it u201cCTG` but I have not yet been able to track down the designer.

The design has been created by using thick solid silver wrapped and curled into this rose design. In the centre of the buckle is a high domed hematite cabochon, which really continues the nod to hand-made Arts and Crafts work. It is heavy and large-an amazing piece actually, which I thought would transform into such an original pendant. The diameter measures approx 9cm and it weighs a mighty 75g.

The buckle fitting is stamped u201cCTG` and u201c925` and the perimeter of the buckle also has the same markings. A very beautiful, quality piece of work clearly by an excellent maker. Date unknown, but it lives and breathes Arts and Crafts. It also resembles a design by one of the Fahrner designers in the 1900s (photo is from the book on Fahrner by Schmund, Weber, Becker).

In excellent condition-a beautiful thing. I shall pack in any box I can find large enough to accommodate it ud83dude09 and I will send it by complimentary Tracked and Signed post. Thank you.
