DescriptionI used fleece from twin Border Leicester ewes, Lucy and Ethel, of Indian Brook Farm, New Hampshire. I had completely forgotten about the fleeces, since I purchased, then packed them away a few years ago. I recently discovered the bin, and the fleeces, and I am enjoying washing, carding, and spinning these new yarns.
The wool is strong and next-to-skin soft. It has a very nice lustre, and feels good in the hand. The yarn has subtle , interesting color variations.
Hand washed, flick-carded, spun, plyed and dyed with acid dyes.
150 yards - 9.7 oz.
Worsted weight 2-ply handspun yarn
4 - 5 stitches / inch
Needles #7-8
Hand wash lukewarm water and mild shampoo or Eucalan.
