Description

Meet the eternal wanderer across deep blue vastnesses - the humpback whale.

The whale is made using only 100% certified organic cotton fabric and eco-friendly stuffing.

There are two 100% biodegradable and sustainable stuffing materials for you to choose from:
1. KAPOK: completely natural fiber that comes from the ceiba tree in tropical climates. It is grown sustainably without pesticides and toxins, making it a great healthy choice. Being a completely natural material, kapok is not as spongy and springy as polyester stuffing. There is a soft, yet compact quality to it.
2. TENCELu2122 made in Austria (EU): tencel lyocell fibers are made from wood pulp and are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process. They are certified as compostable and biodegradable, and thus can fully revert back to nature. The whale stuffed with tencel is in comparison to kapok a bit springier.

APPROX. MEASURES: length 10" (25 cm); width 4" (10 cm)

CERTIFICATES: The gray fabric is certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), and handwoven blue fabric by FLO (Fairtrade International certificate). Fabrics are prewashed with certified organic fragrance- laundry detergent.

CARE: The whale can be occasionally hand-washed: fill a sink or basin with lukewarm water, submerge the toy in the water and gently stroke (without pressing) its surface, don't squeeze the water out, but dry flat and thoroughly in the sun or close to other heating sources.

PACKAGING AND SHIPPING: It comes in a cardboard box with a tag with information about the fabric composition, stuffing material, and care instructions. If you'd like a special message written on a gift tag, please let me know the details when placing your order. Shipments are made by registered Post Slovenia, tracking number and insurance are provided.

Designed and handmade by me in a small town on the southern slopes of the Alps.

ABOUT MIASLI
Each choice we make is more than just a choice. It is a statement of our values and aspirations, of what we wish for ourselves and for the Other, be it human, animal or nature. For this reason, Miasli toys are made from carefully selected natural materials that we believe are the best, and in line with our values of fairness, sustainability and beauty. Instead of polyfill synthetic fiber and wool, we choose to stuff our toys with kapok, tencel and grain hulls. Instead of conventional fabric, we prefer to use only certified organic and fair trade cotton. Crafting such toys, one at a time, step by step, is a wonderful thing to do. We have the joy of knowing that what is being handed over to the children is not only a toy that nourishes their senses and connects them to the world of nature, but also a vision of a world in which the welfare of all living beings matters alike.
