Description

The wood of the sweet chestnut has a beautiful open-pored grain.
It contains a lot of tannic acid and is therefore extremely suitable for smoking.
This gives it a wonderful deep brown color that is particularly effective in sunlight
At the same time, the wood becomes less susceptible to woodworm.

I turned the wood while it was fresh to get a uniquely beautiful brown tone from smoking.
During the dry season a few small cracks had formed in the wood, but I glued them all up.

The inside of the knitted shell is of course sanded smooth. The outside is smoothed just enough to retain the structure and give the bowl a wonderful feel.
Since I pulled the top edge far inward, the ball of yarn cannot jump out.

- 23cm diameter

Note:
Wood is a natural product. Despite careful drying, humidity, temperature and lighting have a direct influence, cracks can appear or the shape can change, which is a natural process and does not represent a defect. Depending on the location / lighting, the color of the wood can change over the years
