Here is rare old Steiff German Shepherd dog Arco, produced from 1957 to 1961 only!
The beauty and short time of its production makes this amazing mohair dog a very rare and much sought after Steiff collectible! Steiff German Shepherd dog lost all its Steiff identification marks a long time ago.

Vintage Steiff German Shepherd Dog here has back painted glass eyes. It is made from brown and black mohair. Old Steiff dog is firmly stuffed with wood wool (excelsior). All its nose stitches and all claw stitches are present. Steiff Shepherd is in a typical standing pose, with a soulful gaze, the very picture of a cute and trustworthy fellow! The open felt mouth sports the red felt tongue, all original.

Old Steiff German Shepherd Arco measures 22 cm / 8 u00bd inches from front paw to the tip of its ears (it is the second largest version ever produced) and is in very good vintage condition as you can see in the photographs!
There is some shortening of mohair on its right side and the squeaker in the old dogu2019s belly is mute. The red ribbon around the dogu2019s neck was added by me.

Steiff German Shepherd Arco would make a fine companion to your darling shabby doll or sport your vintage toy or Steiff collection tremendously!
