Description

Circular bobbin lace vintage art, created in Turnhout lacing style, traditional style. 12 cm, not attached.

This was one of Nellies first studies to create a closing cirle. As you can see, she did succeed, but it wasn't as neet as later work. This kind of circle is made by starting at the small spot of the circle with about 30 - 50 wooden bobbin lace pins and then create a circle. This means that there arent that many pins, but they do go back and forth for a lot of times, and a lot of needles were involved.

She didn't connect the start of the circle with the end. When you frame it, you can easily make it look like a full circle, altough you will see some yarn

Please observe the pictures to see how she did at this piece of art. If you have any additional questions on this piece, feel to ask. For instance, if you want to combine multiple circles or circles and squares in a frame: just ask and we'll try to photograph it as soon as we're visiting Nellie. We are not sending out frames, due to the level of fragileness a frame takes. You are able to frame it yourself in colors that match your home/wedding/nursery decor.

Some other circles have been made to a handkerchief. Unfortunately, Nellie can't do that herself, but if you want, this is still a possibility.

We're a European (dutch) based family, so our timezone might be slightly different from yours - and we could respond on a rather unusual time. As it has been in the closet for so long, it's not possible to make any adjustments or add Personalization.

Some things to take into consideration:
All measurements are in cm's and converted.
The rulers in the pictures use centimeters or millimeters. 1 cm = 10 mm = 0,393700787 inch.

These handmade products are the results of Nellies training and bobbin lace lessons. Some of them are over 40 years old and have some wear and tear. For adding some vintage look (mid 20th century) to your wedding or a room. Because the products are handmade, there might be some mistakes while making the lace. If Nellie noticed it on time, she would fix it. If not, she will just keep pointing out where she went sloppy (because one of us was having a school-emergency) or made a mistake (obviously not her fault, but originated in some kind of drama in her big family)

All the artist impressions are just that: an impression how to use these products. Feel to ask any questions or extra pictures.

If you want to order multiple products, ask for a 'how do they look together' picture.

Products are shipped in a small-sized box, with some re-used cardboard. The bobbin lace is not attached to the paper, so it could be wringled if your post-service-person really likes to swing those boxes I ship using dutch Postnl, with a track and trace. Flying it across an ocean might cost some time.
