Description

Vintage handmade bobbin lace cross, medium sized. Gift for church, church-related activity, baptism or christening. Looks nice combined with other crosses nellie has made.

This cross was one of her earlier pieces. Turnhout Bobbin Lace was originally taught by nuns, so it is known for containing more religious pieces such as this cross. One might say it's a bit primitive, because the strokes she used are the more easier (Linnenslag and Netslag). The loops on the outside of the cross is where the needles used to sit to keep the art together before it's finished. If you really take a detailed look, you can see on the left down part of the cross, that she turned without yarn and had to refill her wooden bobbin lace pin.

This art would look great in a church, or some other religious place. Or, when you are into crosses, combined with other pieces Nellie created. If you want to see a few of them in a real (not artist impression) picture, just let us know.

We don't ship frames, just the lace and some cardboard. This way we are more confident that we will get the product shipped to you in a decent way.
We're a European (dutch) based family, so our timezone might be slightly different from yours - and we could respond on a rather unusual time. As it has been in the closet for so long, it's not possible to make any adjustments or add Personalization.

Some things to take into consideration:
All measurements are in cm's and converted.
The rulers in the pictures use centimeters or millimeters. 1 cm = 10 mm = 0,393700787 inch.

These handmade products are the results of Nellies training and bobbin lace lessons. Some of them are over 40 years old and have some wear and tear. For adding some vintage look (mid 20th century) to your wedding or a room. Because the products are handmade, there might be some mistakes while making the lace. If Nellie noticed it on time, she would fix it. If not, she will just keep pointing out where she went sloppy (because one of us was having a school-emergency) or made a mistake (obviously not her fault, but originated in some kind of drama in her big family)

All the artist impressions are just that: an impression how to use these products. Feel to ask any questions or extra pictures.

If you want to order multiple products, ask for a 'how do they look together' picture.

Products are shipped in a small-sized box, with some re-used cardboard. The bobbin lace is not attached to the paper, so it could be wringled if your post-service-person really likes to swing those boxes

I ship using dutch Postnl, with a track and trace. Flying it across an ocean might cost some time.
