This piece of bobbin lace was created during Nellies bobbin lace lessons at Mrs. N. It's Turnhout, but she kept on telling us it looks more like bobbin lace created in Bruges, because of the flower and the stroke that was used. She created this by starting on the middle, at the top, where you can see a lot of the (needle-created) loops. She would expand in every left-right-left move. If you are interested: the Linnenslag (dutch name, since she is unfamiliar with the english teams) was used to make the ribbon and the outlines of the flower. The leaves are a bit uneven, which shows she was still in her learning process.

The outline is a bit odd: originally designed as a coaster or maybe an antimacassar - but it's still very small for this purpose. It would look great when it's framed in colors that match your home decor, or your nursery aesthetics or the flowergirls room.

We don't frame our lace, to prevend damage from shipping. By framing yourself, you can choose the colors and material you want to combine it with. It would look great with black oak, modern with more iron or even bohemian if you used some kind of ship-wood. If you want to see this piece combined with other flowerrelated lace, please ask. When we visit Nellie we can make some more pictures of how the pieces look together.

We're a European (dutch) based family, so our timezone might be slightly different from yours - and we could respond on a rather unusual time. As it has been in the closet for so long, it's not possible to make any adjustments or add Personalization.

Some things to take into consideration:
All measurements are in cm's and converted. The rulers in the pictures use centimeters or millimeters. 1 cm = 10 mm = 0,393700787 inch.
The black behind the lace is cardboard. If you want, we can send some with the lace art. But you can easily use cardboard in your own color, size or sturdiness
These handmade products are the results of Nellies training and bobbin lace lessons. Some of them are over 40 years old and have some wear and tear.
For adding some vintage look (mid 20th century) to your wedding or a room.
Because the products are handmade, there might be some mistakes while making the lace. If Nellie noticed it on time, she would fix it. If not, she will just keep pointing out where she went sloppy (because one of us was having a school-emergency) or made a mistake (obviously not her fault, but originated in some kind of drama in her big family)
All the artist impressions are just that: an impression how to use these products. Feel to ask any questions or extra pictures.
If you want to order multiple products, ask for a 'how do they look together' picture.
Products are shipped in a small-sized box, with some re-used cardboard. The bobbin lace is not attached to the paper, so it could be wringled if your post-service-person really likes to swing those boxes
I ship using dutch Postnl, with a track and trace. Flying it across an ocean might cost some time. Are you really looking for the quickest way to get it, just contact us and we will see what kind of shipping company can deliver at what costs.
