KNABSTRUP POTTERY & JOHANNES HANSEN:
Knabstrup is an old Danish ceramic brand, which closed down in 1988. The history can originally be dated all the way back to 1622 when Knabstrup Teglvu00e6rk was established. In 1953 Johannes Hansen came to Knabstrup and was hired as artistic director. He was originally a trained visual artist, and with him at the helm, the focus shifted from decorating the products to the design itself, which was his great passion. He remained artistic director of the factory until 1970.
