'A GEM OF IRON' Japanese traditional Tetsubin cast iron tea pot w trivet - 2.5 CUP - 20 oz - Nambu Tekki

This traditional Tetsubin cast iron teapot in beautiful traditional black and brown patina is hand crafted with classic Sakura blossom relief design on one side and Bamboo design on the other. The Teapot is stamped u9244u7d20u306eu9038u54c1 which translates to 'A GEM OF IRON' and has a lovely traditional pattern lid. The trivet is stamped by the manufacturer and also stamped 'JAPAN' (see photos) and has rubber feet to protect your furniture.

Teapot is 6 inches in height including handle and 8 inches wide including spout. Tea pot body is very wide and is 2.5 inches tall and holds 20 oz - 2.5 cups. (Weight of the pot: 2.9 pounds = 1315 g)

Enamel coated interior and lid to prevent rust. Nambu Tekki (traditional Japanese cast ironwork) is hand-made, heat-retaining, strong cast iron traditional construction that lasts for posterity. Teapot is also stovetop safe - withstands high heat to keep tea at the perfect temperature.

I brought a few of these for my collection while working in Japan. NAMBU TEKKI is a uniquely Japanese art of hand-crafted Tetsubin (cast iron tea pots), based around the city of Morioka in Iwate prefecture for centuries [ /o6AuxztRkYM ].
