Teapot has the manufacturer's stamp in relief (u5ca9u92f3 = IWACHU) at the bottom as well as "made in Japan" (see pics) and includes a lovely traditional pattern top lid.

Teapot is 6 inches in height including handle and 6.25 inches wide including spout. Tea pot body is 3 inches in height and holds 20 oz - 2.5 cups. (Weight of the pot: 3 pounds = 1350 g )

I last brought a couple of these for my collection while working in Japan. These teapots are made in the uniquely Japanese method of hand-crafted Tetsubin (cast iron tea pots), based around the city of Morioka in Iwate prefecture for centuries [ See: /o6AuxztRkYM - this a video from the ACTUAL Iwachu workshops and factory! ].

This is a fine specimen of Japanese ironware, of superior quality fine detail and beauty.

Enamel coated interior in perfect condition to prevent rust. Nambu Tekki (traditional Japanese cast ironwork) is hand-made, heat-retaining, strong cast iron traditional construction that lasts for posterity. Teapot is also stovetop safe - withstands high heat to keep tea at the perfect temperature.
