DescriptionThis necklace is a creation made with cardboard
and natural feathers, that are hazelnut colored with their tips being black.
The tableau I made this necklace from is
one of Leonardo da Vinci, entitled La belle
ferronniu00e8re.
I only kept her face, (but you can see her
headband, as middle age ladies and renaissance
ones are the true inventors of headbands !!)
that looks at us with a half severe, half
timid gaze, at least an enigmatic one as
the master of painting really knew to create
them.
Her face is encircled with rows of feathers
that are a symbol of levity, and contrast with
her austerity and whose warm brown colors
contradict the coldness of the expression.
I painted the back of the necklace gold, so that
it's pretty everywhere. It's a chain necklace,
and in my opinion it's necessary to wear it
with something really neutral underneath
to set the necklace into relief.
I entitled this collection the Hans Holbein
collection, an hommage to another painter
I really love and enjoy.
(He's famous for making the portrait of
Henry VIII, king of England).
So, back to painting, and back to feathers !
