Description

Item Details.
A lovely unfinished Crewelwork embroidery dating from England in the 1930s.

Hand embroidered in vibrant colours wools on a canvas ground it depicts a stylised Tree of Life with an exotic bird.

It has examples of different stitching techniques on the upper right hand side, as in a sampler, and we like the fact that you can see the drawing where the artist was planning to embroider. It has been beautifully drawn and executed, and could be finished is you cared to or mounted and hung as it is.

This embroidery look wonderful as a wall hanging.

Measurements.
36x 14inches (92 x 49cm)

Condition.
In great condition for an item of this age. There are a couple of small marks on one area (see pictures) but the cotton is in overall good condition.
